Attorney At Law
Benedicte Boutrouille brings a true international approach to her legal immigration practice.
Hailing from the island of Martinique in the French West Indies, Benedicte has built a storied
career assisting clients from Miami to Paris to as far away as Réunion Island in the Indian
Ocean. “Being an immigrant myself,” she says, “I am passionate about helping companies and entrepreneurs come to the U.S. and contribute to the success of our nation.”
At FGI, Benedicte specializes in employment-based immigration petitions, specifically EB-1A
Extraordinary Ability and EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW), for a wide range of clients. She explains her focus on these visa categories as helping high-skilled workers who want to contribute to the US but do not fit the standard immigration mold. “My goal,” she says, “is to find and obtain for them a viable and sustainable alternative to allow them to work and live in the U.S.”
Benedicte received her J.D. from Tulane University and earned her Bachelor’s degree in
Philosophy from New York University. She has been admitted to the Florida Bar (Bar No.
0058257), the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District and the Middle District of Florida,
and the Paris Bar. Prior to coming to FGI, Benedicte worked for law practices in Miami, Paris,
and Réunion, practicing in various domains of law, including maritime, business, and
employment law. For the past six years, she worked successively for two boutique immigration law firms in Florida where she prepared non-immigrant (B, E, F, H, L, O, TN) and immigrant (EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3) visa petitions. She also conducted audits and legal research into employers’ immigration policies and practices and drafted related legal memorandums.
In her spare time, Benedicte likes reading, films, music, Pilates, yoga, swimming, boating,
walking/running, and hiking. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, South America, and Asia. In addition, she was co-founder and president of non-profit organization for French-speaking entrepreneurial and professional women and currently sits on the board of Musimelange, a non-profit organization that promotes the arts through a multi-sensory concert experience that pairs chamber music with gastronomy and wine tasting.
